During the following years, Christoph traveled through Benin in order to immerse himself in the secrets of the voodoo religion and to better understand it. He returns with a book of breathtaking photographs and begins to build a collection of ritual objects that he feeds on each trip. In 2000, Christoph founded the Soul of Africa Museum in Essen. This place finally allows him to exhibit his collection to a wider audience. This book is essentially devoted to the discoveries made by Christoph since 2010 in Cameroon and among the communities of the Cameroonian diaspora. Many of the rites and customs documented in this volume are largely unknown to the Western world or have already been considered extinct.
