In August 1997 Helen Rollason was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer - she was given until the end of the year to live. For nearly two years she refused to give in to the disease, but she sadly died in August 1999. Here she recounts the events since her diagnosis with utter unsentimentality and an amazing ability to focus on the positive. Her exploration of how previous encounters and experiences gave her the courage to make it through the toughest of times is balanced with anecdotes from her colourful day-to-day working life in sport. She talks the importance to her of her teenage daughter, Nikki, and their life together with their small black cat.
