Maíto is a boy who lives in a gypsy town. His father, Panduro, is in jail and doesn't know how to write. So, Maíto and Panduro devise a special form of communication through their drawings. They are able to express their fears and the desire to return to their rural nomadic life. Then, Panduro learns to write and Maíto is disappointed because their conversations aren't as special any more because anyone can interpret them.
