Although the Situationist International (SI) was founded in Italy in 1957, there was no stable section of the organization in this country until 1969. By then all the artistic whims in the SI had already been conjured. Although the situationist theories had begun to spread years ago in Italy, it was not until after the famous May that a group was formed in Milan that proved to be the most suitable for carrying out the revolutionary task of the SI, for its overall vision, its organizational idea and its theoretical capacities. At a time when criticism of everyday life was at the center of social criticism, situationist ideas unleashed their full force in Italy, offering a lucid and total vision of the new era. This book brings together the complete texts of the Italian section of the SI (1969-1972), translated by Diego L. Sanromán and introduced by an informative text --a brief history of the Italian SI-- written by Miguel Amorós.
